A recent letter about Illegal Immigration
by Robert Peck, WA State Chairman
Dear Friends:
I thought you should know "the rest of the story"
regarding the
invasion of illegal aliens, or as they are being called in the media,
undocumented workers. I suppose the next step will be for the media to
start calling burglars undocumented house guests. While the
Constitution Party has no animosity against immigrants, there is a
proper way for immigration to take place where a limited number of
people come here to become "Americans" and assimilate into the
traditional American culture (click here
to view a resolution passed by the CP National Committee on
this matter April 22, 2006). Sadly, the opposite is now happening as
the stories cited below indicate.
Best estimates show that there are now from 11
million to 20
million illegals in the U.S. While most are from Latin America, many
are from other parts of the world, including the middle east. Our
President's proposed plan is to allow all of these people to stay here
under an amnesty plan (that isn't called amnesty so that makes it OK).
Under such a plan most, if not all of these illegals, would eventually
become citizens. Once citizenship is attained these illegals could
serve as an anchor for bringing in additional family members and
eventually increasing that 11 to 20 million number multiple times
over.
In yesterday's Milwaukee
Journal Sentinel (I'm taking the
long way home from our CP National Committee meeting in Florida via
Wisconsin) there was a story telling of eight Latin American countries
that are pressing the U.S. for immigration reform. If you wonder why
Latin American countries are interested in our immigration policies,
the story went on to state that one of those countries, El Salvador,
currently has 2 million of its citizens living in the U.S. These
Salvadorans are sending $3 billion per year back to El Salvador, an
amount equal to half of that countries gross domestic product.
With these things in mind, the following are a few
stories you may
not have seen on CNN or in your local paper. Click on the links to read
the entire story.
