This month's Continuing Education Class will focus on the Judiciary. Many Americans fail to realize the importance of the Judiciary and do not correctly understand the powers of this branch of government and the limits on those powers.
Are Judges appointed for life? Can judges be impeached? Can Congress limit the jurisdiction of the federal courts? You will learn the answers to these questions and more as we review Article III of the Constitution and the judiciary plank of the Constitution Party platform.
There are several current events related to this issue that demonstrate our need for a better understanding of the role of the judiciary and the duty of the legislative and executive branches to serve as a check and balance in judicial matters. While it is the duty of our elected officials to faithfully execute the laws in accordance with the Constitution, it is our duty to make sure that they are doing theirs. We cannot do this if we ourselves are ignorant of the law of the land, the United States Constitution.
Our class will also feature a short word study. It does us no good to know what is said if we don't know what is meant. Words have meaning, but some are attempting to change those meanings. For more information, you can call Randall Yearout at 924-7080.
